Smooth Transitions Between Routines and Classrooms

This hands-on session offers practical tools for managing transitions between activities and settings. Participants will explore songs, movement games, visual cues, and routines that help children move smoothly between learning segments while maintaining focus and emotional regulation.

Learning Objectives:

Identify common challenges children face during transitions between activities and environments in the classroom.

Describe how smooth transitions support children’s behavior, focus, and emotional regulation.

Demonstrate at least three effective transition strategies (e.g., songs, movement games, visual cues).

Develop a transition plan tailored to their classroom, using multi-sensory supports.

Evaluate the success of transition strategies and make adjustments based on observation.
