Emerging Director, Foundations of Early Childhood Leadership
About this Training
This foundational course is designed for new or recently appointed directors and assistant directors stepping into leadership roles in early childhood education settings. Participants will gain a comprehensive introduction to the administrative, educational, and leadership responsibilities of directing a childcare program. Through practical scenarios, interactive case studies, and guided reflection, learners will build the essential competencies needed to manage daily operations, support staff, engage families, and ensure regulatory compliance. Learning Objectives: By the end of this course, participants will be able to: Interpret and apply state licensing regulations and compliance standards.
Manage basic operational tasks including enrollment, registration, budgeting, and payroll.
Demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills for leading a small team.
Support staff onboarding and address basic classroom management and conflict situations.
Understand and monitor developmentally appropriate practices (DAP) within existing curriculum frameworks.
Communicate effectively with families, facilitating positive and culturally responsive interactions.
